We proudly introduce our new Vice President of Sales: Robert Dous. A true RV enthusiast with a passion for customer service and the industry. ‘I genuinely believe that we need to listen to our customers to understand their needs and pains.’ By doing so, Robert is truly on your side.
Over the years, Robert has earned his stripes in the sales industry. He’s seen many companies and industries – from personal care and coffee machinery, to plastics and metal. The latter for over 30 years, selling semi-finished materials as well as machinery. Through his extensive experience, he has become a hands-on, down-to-earth Vice President of Sales who strongly values the relationship with his customers.
‘Because of all the different industries and companies I’ve seen over the years, I have a deep understanding of customers' needs and challenges. And I have some general knowledge of what’s going on in their production floor. It’s easier to empathise with their challenges and successes.’
One of the many reasons Robert chose Euramax, is because of the end product. Robert has a true passion and love for RVs and camping. Something that comes in handy in the industry. ‘For me travelling with my RV feels like a reset. Once you start driving, you’re in a different world of total freedom. I can decide where to go and what to do any minute. I love staying in remote places, surrounded by nature. Any opportunity I get, I go out with my RV. Whether it’s for a weekend or a longer holiday.’ Whenever Robert visits Euramax’s factory in Roermond, he often brings his RV and camps on-site. An RV enthusiast indeed.
As a Vice President of Sales, Robert acknowledges challenges in the industry as well. ‘We have a great task for the future to ensure that RVs remain affordable for the consumer. Cost-efficiency is a significant issue. We aim to contribute to the solution by creating a more efficient production process, by increasing the speed of our production, and by investing in automation. RVs are expensive enough as they are, we try to cut costs wherever possible.’
A trend Robert both sees and feels that goes hand in hand with cutting costs is the demand for lighter weight RVs. ‘Self-sufficiency becomes more important to people when camping. The lighter the RV, the more the payload, the bigger the room for necessary items when travelling in nature. I chose an aluminium RV for myself as well, because of the innovative nature of the material, and because of the extra payload it offers.’ A true understanding of the business you could say.
When asking Robert about what he hopes to achieve at Euramax, his answer is loud and clear. ‘I want people to say that both myself and Euramax are known in the RV industry as a reliable partner, who understands the customer’s and industry’s challenges and needs. If people recognise us for that, I’ll know we as Euramax are fully on our customer's side.’
