Théâtre De Kattendans

Bergeijk is known as Rietveld village where ‘De Stijl’ plays a prominent role. ‘Weavery De Ploeg’, designed by Rietveld, is one of the most prominent buildings and a national monument. Retaining the characteristics of De Stijl; Diederendirrix has given the renovated theater a new and more spacious look. A number of new volumes were added without disrupting the composition. The old facade made way for a new light-hearted skin of specialty pressed aluminum profiles in EuraMica Onyx White Gold. The facade cladding is draped over the building like a curtain; it’s shape and color being a subtle reference to the fabrics of De Ploeg.
